Prayer – A Conversation with God

In the Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 6 and verse 5 Jesus begins to speak about praying. HE starts with a warning against hypocritical prayers, that is wanting to impress people. “LORD, Father forgive me for letting myself do that.”

Then Jesus mentions a more perfect way to pray. Praying to the Father in secret. The King James Version, KJV interrupted HIS words as “enter into thy closet.” Enhanced English translations such as the New King James Version, NKJV interrupted HIS words in the text as “enter into your room“. The real point is clear in the rest of Jesus’ statement, pray to the Father in secret, because the Father inhabits the secret place and the Father will reward you openly.

Introduction

“Our Farther”; Jesus’ opening reflects His teachings and desire for us to realize that God is farther of us all. The creator of that we know, see, and understand. And being a farther myself I appreciation that God wants us to recognize him as farther. Remembering the floor heaters that used during my youth.
