Our Children Need a Period of Innocence

God’s Demonstration

It was not a coincidence that Mankind first appears in The Holy Bible under a mandate to remain innocent. Our Father, God only had one restriction in the Garden of Eden, do not eat from the tree in midst. There was a time planned to introduce Mankind to the unpleasant elements or possibilities in the world but our Father, God wanted Mankind to have a period to learn and mature more before this introduction.

Why didn’t He create man with ALL knowledge and understanding from the very beginning? It was for us, Mankind to see that our development as human beings should have a period of innocence. A period where we see all things as good and pleasant. A period when we should be gathering knowledge and experiences without setbacks or trauma. Giving us a baseline of joyous occasions and pure intentioned accomplishments to draw on before we start dealing with the struggles of human life.

The Father, God wants us to follow his demonstration with our children.

Why Is Innocence so Important?

Because it takes time to build up the resiliency and maturity required to properly deal with human life’s greatest challenges. Challenges that cause us to lose sleep and even to question our very existence on earth. I remember what it was like to be innocent, and the little things that happened that tried to take that innocence away early. I thank God for my strong Mother, Corine (McKinney) Banks for she attempted to ensure that life’s struggles were not coming on me too fast.

I cannot imagine facing some of the life altering decisions that people are putting before their children today. Innocence lost, children are told they can make abortion decision without parental knowledge or advice. Children are told they can choose to be male, female, or neither. Neither? And then there are all abuses that some children have to endure.

Children should only be concerned about which toys or games they will play with next. The challenges and fun of learning new things at school. Exploring nature and learning to appreciate their position as keepers of this planet.

Children need a long period of innocence.
